A newer addition to our syrup lineup, the salted brown sugar syrup has became a fast favorite in our cafes. We're sharing this syrup recipe, so you can enjoy at home it even when you can't make it in to see us!
SALTED BROWN SUGAR SYRUP RECIPE
This syrup recipe yields 8-9 oz (~ 1 cup), enough to make about 16 drinks.
INGREDIENTS
- 7 oz brown sugar (~ 3/4 c. firmly packed)
- 4 oz water (~ 1/2 c.)
- 1/4 - 1/2 tsp. salt (depending on your salty preference)
DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients into a sauce pan and stir to combine.
Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
Continue to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and let cool. Then, store the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge. (It will keep much longer in there!)
