About this coffee
Peaches, Brown Sugar, Lemonade...it may sound as though we’re pitching a delicious summer treat, while in fact we’re introducing our newest Ethiopian coffee. Don’t be mistaken though, Yachi Kachise is as much a summer treat as you could hope for.
Surprisingly full-bodied for an Ethiopian coffee, its notes of stone fruit and the sweetness of molasses-rich brown sugar entice the palate before it finishes with the pleasing tartness of a refreshing glass of lemonade.
Equally complex and enthralling is its story of origin from the newly established Kata Mudaga Union in Jimma, Ethiopia. Including a total of 17,594 small-scale farmer members, this union has been working since 2016 with the aim to “improve the life standard of member farmers by enhancing household income levels.”
We are just as eager to support these important efforts as we are to share this coffee with you at home. Fully-washed and dried on raised beds, Yachi Kachise has a nuanced flavor profile that you will get to know more fully as you brew it in various ways, so let your experimental side go crazy!
