About this coffee

With Thanksgiving now in the rear view mirror, we wonder...did you forget about coffee while you had visions of stuffing and pumpkin pie dancing in your head? Well, coffee certainly didn’t forget about you! It was patiently waiting in the wings, ready to dazzle you as soon as you awoke from your tryptophan-induced slumber. And dazzle you, it will! In fact, the first thing you’ll notice when you dive into a cup of our newest Kenyan coffee is its dazzling acidity.

Karimikui is named after the factory that produced this coffee (known for having some of the best-paid cherry producer members in the country). The Runget’o Cooperative which runs the Karimikui factory is supplied by 4,300 small landholding producers who pride themselves on both exceptional farmers and cup quality.

Sip on this coffee and enjoy its sparkling red raspberry characteristics and the tartness of freshly-brewed hibiscus tea while notes of sweet red currants dance across your tongue. In true Kenyan fashion, Karimikui is a refreshingly clean, flavorful cup. We think it’s exactly what your coffee cabinets - and palates - need after all of that Thanksgiving indulgence.

This coffee’s complexity really shines when filter brewed: we suggest the Chemex or Kalita Wave.
