About this coffee

Who knows what it is with our October coffees, but it seems to be the “season of volcanoes!” Here we have yet another coffee grown not just near, but on the slopes of the San Salvador volcano in El Salvador. It is here that El Olvido Estate Coffee has been growing [predominately Bourbon varietal] coffee trees since 1887.

We have producer Oswaldo Suchini to thank for this sweet and balanced honey process which will be the perfect daily-drinker for your fall mornings (or afternoon pick-me-ups...we won’t judge!).

El Olvido has a mellow tangerine acidity and the gentle sweetness of milk chocolate, but wait! If you give it a chance to cool even slightly, you’ll notice a new flavor note...red berries! Seemingly imperceptible at first, the deep fruitiness of berries will become inescapable as this coffee cools, adding a new layer of dynamic goodness to what it has to offer.

With all of its versatility, you won’t have to do much to make this coffee taste good, so sit back and let El Olvido do the heavy lifting...the only lifting you’ll have to do is mug-to-mouth.

This coffee shines when filter brewed: we suggest the Chemex. Generally, filter brewing produces better coffee clarity (ability to tell flavors apart) than body (texture, weight in your mouth) and we love this coffee's clarity.
